FAQ
Do I need this service, when I already have the browser extensions mentioned above installed?
Yes and no. You don't need it for yourself, but when you send this service's links to others who might not have the aforementioned browser extensions installed, this might still be beneficial for them.
Why would I use this service instead of said browser extensions?
The browser extensions make it the responsibility of the viewer to install them, otherwise they will be forced to open a link to YouTube™. This service shifts this responsibility to the one sharing the link, while still allowing for automatic redirects if wanted. It also offers the chance to inform the viewer of other options, especially if they are not tech-savvy or privacy-savvy.
Why would I use this service instead of sharing a YouTube™ link directly?
YouTube™ (including Google LLC™ and Alphabet Inc.™) doesn't respect your privacy and there are people who don't like when you send them a YouTube™ link.
Why would I use this service instead of sharing a Piped, Invidious or Poke! link directly?
That's better than sending a YouTube™ link, but you might like Piped, while some people might like Invidious and others like Poke!. This services offers this choice to all of them.
